The Wimmera CALD Workforce Industry Partnership

The Wimmera CALD Industry Partnership was a project delivered by the Nhill Learning Centre to support migrants and employers in the Wimmera to meet current and future workforce needs. The project supported employers to develop effective training strategies for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) employees as well as provided businesses with labour to meet their future workforce requirements.

The Wimmera CALD Industry Partnership partnered with 10 businesses in the Wimmera and involved approximately 150 CALD employees.

A Workforce Development Officer and Multi-lingual Liaison Officer provided outreach services to employers and employees across the Wimmera region as well as provided one-on-one mentoring of CALD employees through a regular visiting service at the workplace to address employment support needs.

The project was funded by a grant from the Victorian Parliament and supported by the Labor Government’s Regional Skills Fund.
